Unseen concept art for cancelled Playstation 3 title Eight Days emerges

Benoit Godde, concept artist who worked on visual development of AAA next-gen games, has recently shown concept art for the cancelled Playstation 3 game Eight Days.

The game was being developed for Playstation 3 by SCE London Studio, when the rumors started going round in 2008 that Eight Dayswas going to get cancelled. According to Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, the cancellation of Eight Days was being considered because of its lack of an online mode. As he stated, the company was adopting a strategy to move towards releasing more online-supported games, which Eight Days did not fit, though it was not falling behind production-wise. Later, in 2009, it was revealed that the game was not cancelled yet, but simply put on hold.

Eight Days is an action game, set over the course of eight days in eight different states, and at the time, its game map would have been the largest game map there was. Another appealing thing it was supposed to include was a real life clock, so if you played the game at night, your in-game clock would be showing the same time.

The screenshots of the concept art look amazing, and it would be nice to see this game make a comeback in the future.
